Queen of Funk is more widely known as her DJ alias - Lady Duracell who has DJ'd at most of London's prestigious venues including Ministry of Sound, Koko, Turnmills, Pacha, Canvas, Whitehouse, The Cross, Egg & many more. She was resident DJ/presenter for over 7 years, on London's Passion fm, where she was brought on to introduce the sound of house music to the station. She is currently taking time out to concentrate on production and other ventures.
In 2006 she was voted 57th Worldwide & 15th in the UK, in the Top 100 female DJ's '06 which was organised by Shejay.net. Later that year, she made her International debut in Ibiza.
Fast forward to 2008, and Lady Duracell was asked to choose, arrange licensing, and mix the music for Nell McAndrew's latest fitness DVD (Cardio, Core and Stretch). This is now available in the shops and features music from Audiowhores, DJ Gregory, Liquid People and more, it also features Queen of Funk's Es Paradis. Es Paradis was used online and in the TV advert.
A natural progression from DJ-ing is production, and first up from the Queen of Funk is 'Es Paradis' a firing latin funker! This track has been setting the floors of Koko, Pacha, Turnmills and The Love Club (Ibiza) alight with it's authentic spanish guitar courtesy of DJ/musician Duncan D, with vocals from Sonia & Lady Duracell.
